Well it’s Sunday morning and the first thing we do is move to the cabin we will stay the rest of the week in (number 10). After some unpacking we decided to go out and get something to eat. We had a few places in mind from reading brochures and from Beths previous visits. So we went to the Bubble Room, imagine TGI Fridays, Chuckie Cheese and maybe doing a small hit of acid, just Google Sanibel + The Bubble Room and you will see what I mean. We went there for lunch and each had a hamburger and their version of fries. Now we’re not that picky about our food nor thrifty with our money, BUT save you money and go somewhere else. The food was average and the prices were elevated, our bill with 2 drinks each was about $60. Yes I know I am on vacation and on an island but this is steep regardless. If you want to go here get a Captiva Cooler and look around and leave.
On our way back to the cottage we went to the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum, Beth was looking for a book that she owns but could not find. Well we found the book which I purchased for her as a way to remember our trip to Sanibel. While we were here we took in the 30 minute movie that talks about shells and how they are formed etc. Then after that we took in the museum and saw all kinds of shells and how they were used in the very early days on man and the Indian times.
After the museum we headed to Jerry’s groceries and picked up some snacks and beer to take back home. The store is in a wilderness mall like setting where parrots are in cages.
We went back to the cottage for a few hours and eventually headed our for dinner. This time we went to Island Cow, Amy was our waitress. The place has cows all over the place in all shapes and sizes. Beth had the grilled swordfish and I had the grilled salmon. Our dinners were wonderful and I recommend this place highly. After dinner we headed back cottage and eventually went to sleep.
