Well I forgot to mention in my last post June 27th makes our first year as work-timers!! wahoo

Now to current new, Friday I was told that I was let go and that I was able to begin negotiations with the company taking over the contract. Well as of today I am employed again. I can say this is the shortest time I have ever been without a job.

Here in Kansas it’s been either near a 100 degrees or over. This has created some issues for the park owners. Apparently there is a 600A breaker that blows mostly due to the heat in the mechanical room. Well yesterday we blew 2 breakers ($135 a piece). Today we blew at least once and then the whole park went our for about 30 minutes. Well were back up and running for now.

I think it’s time to look into generators for the RV, especially since I am beginning to work from home more. Also maybe an extra battery or two since I only have one.

I talked to the owners and they are also going to check a few lots here and they may be part of the issue we are experiencing. So hopefully things will be worked out soon because it gets hot quick in here.

Well again it’s been a while. I have rewritten the website, this was the main reason for the late update. I went to Alaska for a few days back in May which may have been posted here but due to a server issue I lost an update or two. Note to self: make sure backups work!.

In order to get the blog back up I had to paste all of the entries back in. All in all it worked out since you are able to read this again.

I finally got a round to washing the RV and boy she looks great! We are still waiting for warranty work to begin, the problem is that the shower has not been delivered. Once that happens the work will commence and we can be happier camper (worktimers).

Work is going well, Beth is landing a permanent position with a telecom company so she is happy. My job has turned out to a contract issue. Things should work out but if not I have a backup plan or two.

So far summer hasn’t been too bad with the one AC unit, I do plan on getting a unit for the front though.

I have noticed one thing, though we are connected to a 50amp circuit I do not feel as if we are getting the full 50 amp service. I say this because when the AC and either the microwave or the half-time oven are on both struggle to run.

Also this month my best friends from MN are coming to visit, they will stay in a hotel since they have a 2 year old who may need some space.

Also this month my girls are coming to visit, this will be a lot of fun. I have never told them what I live in. When we went to visit them in MN we saw the RV and they seem to enjoy it. Though they are only 7 and 12 I think they will like their visit after all they will be with their dad.

Well more later.

Where do I start, well we moved into another storage unit. It turns out that the owner called us and said that she could put us in a climate controlled unit cheaper than the climate controlled and standard unit we just moved into. So we spent another weekend moving to another unit and we actually have some space left over. We submitted some warranty work that was approved and will be worked on in June, nothing major but it will be nice to have it done. Beth created a small garden in our area, were looking forward to the results later this year. Today is also our 4th anniversary wow time flies when you are happy! We’re off to see my girls this weekend, it been too long and I am really looking forward to it. Now a funny story. We have this couple next to us in a diesel pusher, they have been there for about a month. We yesterday we go out for brunch and I notice that the back tire is covered in black soot. Now it did rain hard and I am parked next to a railroad tie. Well I am checking into the source of this mess, I figured it out that the exhaust pipe of their generator spewed this stuff on my van, which is for sale. So when we get back Beth heads over with a kind note as to what has happened and some possible solutions to future runnings of the generator. So she heads over that knocks on the door and the wife answers the door and Beth begins to explain what happened and that they might want to have the generator looked at and that maybe they could purchase a exhaust pipe turn down to prevent this from happening to us and future neighbors. Well they completely miss what was said and being to go into defensive mode. They begin with “we didn’t run it that long” and “on Sunday morning it’s hard to get enough power to make good waffles” and “we ran it last Sunday”. Instead of “wow we’re sorry” or “we’ll be more careful next time and thanks for telling us”. While this story isn’t hahahahah funny, it’s amazing how people get defensive as if they were going to loose their rights.. Well more to come this month as other travels are upon us.

Well we just weathered some storms. The tornado sirens went off 3 different times today, possibly a record. Well the worst that happened to use was dime sized hail and it has left no damage. My brother and his fiancee sent me an email that they have announced a date to be married. So I guess I am heading out to California in October, that will be a nice time. Other news is that we are just about finished converting from a 10×25 storage unit to a 10×10. Goodwill is loving us right now and later the IRS will hate us. I am just glad things are shaping up. On top of this I got a call today, someone is interested in our front load washer and dryer, wahooo. A few more things to get rid of and life will be good. Other news is that we will not be going to Tennessee as they have been some personality conflicts with some people on a paranormal forum that the wife was involved in. So it’s Alaska in May, Missouri in June and California in October. Sounds like a good year to me.

Well it’s been a while but since we are going to be stationary for some time the writings may be less frequent. Last night we got down to 0 or below and our main water inlet (entrance head) is froze solid, no water. I went and checked the heat tape lines and they are fine. I added an additional wrap wound the entrance head pole and insulation and plastic. Next we drug out a large tarp (all we had) and covered the entrance head and about 2 hours later we had water. I will be adding additional information to the winter camping link to insure others do not get into this predicament. We met some other Montana owners that have graced the Walnut Grove RV park. They have a 2006 3475RL being pulled buy an 06 Chevy 2500 Duramax/Allison combination. They have had no issues being in the mountains with this setup and said that it tows great. They travel 8 months of the year going to home shows selling cleaning materials. We talked about minor issues and tips on ownership it was a nice visit. The cats are enjoying themselves and go out when its dry and warm. They are very good cats. We open the door they go out and come when called and usually stick hnear the house. The weather here is getting better, we going to hit the 60′s this weekend and it only the end of February, not bad.
